Understand the UNHCR RSD process.
CAP’s primary purpose is to assist asylum-seekers undergoing UNHCR’s refugee status determination (RSD) procedure with UNHCR in Thailand.
We provide advice with every step of the procedure. Where appropriate, we may also conduct legal research and provide country of origin information, prepare client testimony, assist with evidence and/or observe interviews to support a refugee application.
CAP is a pro-bono legal aid provider. Our advisors will assess every request, and our ability to help depends on several factors.
HAS UNHCR REJECTED YOUR APPLICATION? You have limited time to appeal your rejection. If you need help with understanding your rejection notice or the appeal, be sure to contact us immediately.
Some of the issues we can help with are:
- Registration
- Statements and evidence
- Interviews
- Family unity

Other services
We also help asylum-seekers and refugees with other legal issues they encounter in Thailand. This includes advice, representation, and referrals to other organizations where appropriate. Common issues include immigration issues, arrest, detention, bail, and access to healthcare and education.
